Chinese Autumn Festival at Burwood Hwy

After spending half a day marketing and then half a day preparing, the night has finally come and people starts to fill up the house. On the table, we have chicken noodles by Oya, Jap Chae by Elvina, Vege salad with crab sticks and eggs by Agnes, Fruits by Yani, 4 mooncakes sponsored by Ming, Tuna and egg Bruchettas by Adrienne, Sushi by my housemates and of course Pumpkin + brinjal Curry by myself!

And I have say that ALL THE FOOD WAS WONDERFUL!
really glad my curry was a success =D
Great seeing happy faces with plates of food in their hands.

Group photo for the night~

Oya was so happy that she gets to have her first bite of mooncake that night.

Jess brought us a surprise!

we were "WOW-ing and WA-ing" throughout the night.

Everyone's astonished and impressed with her.. "MOONCAKE CAKE" we called it !

this is the upper view ;) fantastic work eh?

and when it's cut open, see how it looked just so exactly like a normal mooncake?

Jess has really made an effort to make it. by the way, it's a choc butter cake with double "yolks" (just orange coloured butter cake), and the outer layer's made from marshmallows... MARVELOUS JOB! don't ask how to do it, i just haven't got a clue! Jess has even made a cake the shape of an LV bag. I've seen it and was amazed! I know it's nothing really, but she's done it with her own skill, didn't go for any classes before.

We were all discussing about having our future wedding cakes made by Jess.

LOL.

A Day out at the Tulips~

My housemates and I have planned 2 activities for this break, which include a trip to the tulip farm and potluck at our house during the mooncake festival.

We picked Sunday, which was yesterday, because the Tesselar Tulip Farm was having a Dutch festival during the weekend and the weather forecast wasn't that bad afterall ;)

I'm glad that Oya and I finally get to take pictures together! she's one of my best friends here and I actually met her on my very first day of uni.
I still couldn't believe we didn't have pics tog for after so looong!

We love the reds! and here myself with the yellow+bits of reds 'tulips?'

I honestly don't know what they are!

Here's Yani, Bixia, Oya and I enjoying the day with the beautiful tulips.
Kevin's the only guy in the trip. lol. we girls do need someone who might come in handy, so thanks for answering our 'calls' !
That's all 8 of us (with Kevin doing his job again) ^.^The reds again. Can't go without them. The best colour ever. There're actually 100 more pictures taken. But will be all flowers then.
Glad that everyone had fun yesterday!

I'm looking forward towards tomorrow's party! I love lanterns and mooncakes!

Hopefully my new "Pumpkin curry" invention will turn out O.K. and most importantly, edible. haha.

adding a bit of spice in my life...

I think it's time to add a bit of colours to my blog =)

I had long planned to bake a cake for my teacher on his birthday the 14th.
i'm free after handing in the assignment anyway.
so after spending the whole day, yes i did! although it's just a cake and it's not my first time. I have to make sure it's a 101% success, because practically i've told everyone at the studio that i'll be bringing in a cake as a surprise for Don. so with some stress there, i cant afford to fail!
But anyhow, being a 'perfectionist' i am, i was jumping happily when the whole thing turn out alright *pHew!* and made it just in time!

Introducing DE CAKE "Marble Cheesecake", and JEAN the baker.

At the Studio, with some other students.

It's great to see all were smilling happily =D

More pics in Delfina's camera...

Previously, Bixia and I have baked some OREO MUFFINS.

These humble ones taste so good ! with so lil work involved. want the recipe?

Anyway, nothing would be more wonderful than seeing him again soon

around 3 weeks he said =)

Sirshasana

"I would love to try it out this time, can I do it against the wall?"

"Nope." *shakes head* "I'll be standing right behind to support you." *smiles*

*hesistated* "Okay then, here goes...."

"Have your elbows supporting your head. First try to lift the right knee then the left, and then try to balance." *trying to hold my legs*

*shakieshakie* *getting there* "I'm scared....I'm s.c.a.r.e.d...." *cries*

*RUMBLESSS* me = tumbled over, nearly smash my yoga instructer, Sanjay. He's smart enough to dodge that, i think he knew it was coming. LOL

"Gee..." *blush* "this is embarrasing!"

"No no it's not." *smiles* "This happens. Don't worry." *smile*

I'll make sure I practice my head stands well enough before doing it in front of others. This is actually my first attempt. I want to overcome this phobia of having my weight upwards with my neck under. i'm suppose to have my arms n core strengh supporting my weight instead, but they're just not strong enough. particularly my arms. sometimes i wonder why i have meaty thighs but skinny arms. well, it's ok. i'm getting there. I'm building them strong.
Anyway, it's a great achievement being able to do Chaturanga Dandasana effortlessly now.
Sometimes I think just have to take things slowly.

An enthusiast need a break too!

Btw, Sanjay is a great yogi with great personality and he's cute when he smiles. One of the reasons i kept going to his class ;)

"enthusiasm"

I was told (indirectly) that i am not being enthusiastic enough. particularly at my age, i should be much more hyper & active, have that "enthusiasm" in doing things and even plan ahead for events coming up!

and having said that, I do admit at times, I am L.a.z.y and just couldn't be bothered. but hey.. i know what i'm doing, may not be right at the right time, but still i try =)

However, i think it's time to change.
It's the matter of changing the mindset and making the decision of you want to be better or not.
BE STRONGER & MORE CONFIDENT.
that's what i'm lack of.

Let's treat every obstacle as a stepping stone to success.
Up Up UP!

~a sigh of relieve

Finally concluding this assignment... DONE!

by the way, it was about I being appointed as a marketing consultant for the Porsche 911 Turbo sports car, researching for the potential target market and applying the most appropriate marketing strategies. oh my it was crap throughout the whole, but hey... it's only worth 10% marks. so stop fussing bout it Ms. Jeanne! My next worry would be an assignment based on "Breastfeeding" weighting 50% due on coming Thurs. =S not as much hatred on this. coz it's my field my expertise. =)

I wana shout out a BIG BIG "THANK YOU!" to loonie my darling. coz my fusses would be much worse without your help. Thanks for completing half of it and being an emotional support! okay i have to admit that i've had a break down because of that subject *sobs*

Anyway A Huge Credit for YOU! ;)
*Tight huggles and Kisses*

I'm Back!

Wow.wonderfull!!! Let me say it again, "I AM BACK!"
-LOL-

I've been longing to come back and start blogging but my eagerness wasn't supported by my actions. see i've been giving tonnes of excuses again. But Anyway, just to start off things with, the reason i wanted to post again is because i've got so much in mind these days. many people and things have sent these inspirations to me. I want to talk about it. Used to have him around my side, chit chatting but not anymore. He's gone home. Not exactly home, but off to reality = WORK.

I was finishing up my marketing assignment a minute ago when i started to feel i have to surf the net. I'm bored. Marketing is such a big leap from food science. Geee..it's too late anyway to complain about now. I'm telling myself that in 9 weeks it'll all be over and done with! I'm so glad!

Speaking about these few years, well, 3 years to be exact, my uni life hasnt been really 'spectacular', or should say not exciting enough? i cant help it when i see friends who are in the same situation as me, having much more friends and F.U.N of course. I'M SO ENVIOUS. and i've got only one thing to blame. MY UNI. No Malaysian or Singaporean Clubs. You'll be able to count how many chinese in my course in 10 fingers...etc.
Thankfully, having found one of the best dance studios in australia, and getting the most valuable dancing techniques and lessons. As a plus, Don has inspired me quite a bit with his so called "philosophies". Good teacher. Thanks to him, I realised I've grown up and having the nerves to step out of my comfort zone.

I dont know about others, but flipping back those pictures taken from the past is one of my favourite past time. I love it when all these images and memories come back all of a sudden, triggering all your brain cells, it's just fun! hilarious i should say. lol. awwww. love going to friendster to check out how are friends doing too. I miss hanging out. In fact, I've missed out so much that I dont know if friends out there still remember if i still exist!

In 9 weeks time, after finishing uni's finals, i'm going to do my teacher's accreditation for latin, ballroom and new vogue. That would be my start of being a qualified dancing teacher as i would still be carrying on through to upper levels.
Around mid November, i would be heading home, do what i should do and then,
During the 24th weekend, I'll (or loon n i will) be meeting Don in Penang for an international dancing event, think it's in the Bayview Beach Resort,
On the 8th of Dec, there'll be another event, the 7th Sabah Open Dance Championship at the Magellen Sutera Hotel & Spa in KK. Heard it's a 6-star resort ;D and loon was all excited about it when he heard "we'll be heading to the beach"!
By the way, they are all being paid for. Now how good is that? *claps*

and then...not finished yet to end 2007,
I'm going to join my parents and relatives in a trip to China on the 11th, some places named Naning, Guilin..etc.. no idea where. but will brush up my geographical knowledge soon! as i will start travelling after year ends! my next trip will be Italy in April 08 *all excited* =)

i think it's time to get back to where i've stopped. it's due tmr and i'm only errr half way there? *shouts and sighs*
